Do you need to sell your home quickly or As-Is in North Omaha?

Seward Street, February 2021.

Full of history and character, North Omaha is one of the oldest areas in metro Omaha. Its diversity of people and neighborhoods is reflected in the variety of restaurants, shops, architecture, and churches.

Renovating and Preserving Older Homes

As with most older neighborhoods, some residences are in wonderful condition while others need significant repairs and updates. As a history major myself (Anna), I love that our business aims to honor the past by preserving older homes where and when we can. Our company comes alongside homeowners who need to sell their homes quickly because they may not have the time or money to make the repairs or updates before selling. In those cases, we try to help them find a solution which sometimes involves us buying their home directly so they can move on to other things. We can work with local contractors to renovate these homes. My heart’s desire is to restore when we are able to, bringing the home to a safe, beautiful, livable condition, so others can enjoy the property for years to come.

A wonderful surprise. The bedroom floor in a 1904 home in North. Anna’s team just refinished the wood flooring throughout the house this month, February 2021.

Here are two photos at the right, taken this winter of 2021. We were able to purchase a charming, older Radial Hills home that had been in the same family for several decades. We are now renovating the 1904 home. It has “good bones” as we like to say, when the foundation and structure is in good shape! It was well-cared for by its owners over the years. And much to our delight, when the carpet in the master bedroom was pulled back, well-preserved wood flooring was revealed. Our contractor brought in his specialist to refinish the wood floors. In these images, you can see the newly stained floor in all its glory!

North Omaha has so many older homes like this one, that just need a little TLC. We are honored to play a small part in preserving them for future generations.

Articles and Podcasts – North Omaha History

For those interested in learning more about the history and culture of North Omaha, Adam Fletcher Sasse has a series of articles and podcasts  that explore many interesting topics, from the history of parks, theaters, and specific neighborhoods like Florence and Minne Lusa, to the lives of notable former residents like activist/civil servant/politician Edwin Overall and bandleader/educator/civil rights activist Dan Desdunes, among others. We think it’s fantastic that Adam continues to research and share this valuable history. He’s making a lasting contribution and helping all of us understand and appreciate the area’s fascinating past and present.

An older church on Evans Street in North Omaha. Inside, it’s in serious need of repair. We hope someone with deep pockets will see it and be able to restore it to its former glory!

We know it can sometimes be stressful to think about selling through the traditional process with an agent, as amazing as many of them are.

We work a little differently at Anna Buys Houses…

  • We can buy “As-Is” – No repairs needed. Simply take what you want and leave the rest.
  • No open houses! Whew! You don’t need to clean for constant showings.
  • Leave the clean-out and fix up to us.
  • No contract binding you to a real estate agent for a certain time period.
  • No piles of paperwork to deal with!

When you contact us and submit the short property information form (below), we’ll give you a fair, all-cash offer on your house within 24-48 hours. We’ll know quickly if we can help you. And you won’t have to wait to see if a traditional buyer can get financing… because we’re the buyer. We prefer to buy with cash and don’t have to rely on traditional bank financing. We can usually close when you want to close, often in as few as 7-10 days. (Go here to learn about our process →)
